Normally you see something like this:

gPXE initialising devices...

gPXE 1.0.0+ -- Open Source Boot Firmware -- http://etherboot.org
Features: AoE HTTP iSCSI DNS TFTP bzImage COMBOOT ELF Multiboot PXE PXEXT

Does the light on your network port blink during the time when you
suspect gPXE is running?
