[ I have BCC'ed the email addresses of everyone who has expressed an
interest in working with us duing GSoC this summer ]
Hello GSoC candidates and interesting community members,
Many thanks to everyone who has already submitted a GSoC proposal to
work with us this summer! We are very pleased with the response so far.
For those who have, we will leave a public comment to let you know that
we are reviewing your proposals and appreciate your effort in submitting
them. We will contact you via email to discuss your proposals and ask
for more information where appropriate.
Once all proposals are in and the deadline is past, we will send out
emails with next steps for those who have applied.
For those who have not yet submitted a proposal we hope you will soon,
since the deadline for applications is:
*** Friday, 9 April 2010 at 19:00 UTC ***
*** Please look up what time that is in your timezone ***
I urge you not to wait until the last moment! It's far to easy to be
the victim of a hardware failure or some other event that causes you not
to be able to submit your application. The more time you give yourself,
the more likely it is that you can get your application in before the
deadline. If we don't get your proposal before the deadline, we can't
consider you, so please get them in on time.
I (mdc) and other mentors such as stefanha, meteger, rwcr, warthog9, and
less1 will sometimes be on #etherboot this week to chat.
Please send email to soc-mentors at etherboot.org and we will do our best
to answer any questions you may have about applying. We do have jobs
and courses and families, so sometimes we must be away from our
computers, so email is a good way to contact us. We'll try to be on IRC
as much as we can as the deadline approaches. :)
We are excited by the people who have shown interest in working with us,
and we look forward to getting to know you better.
Thanks and Best Regards,
/ Marty /
