Windows Server 2008 boot from SAN
Windows Server 2008 supports booting from iSCSI, AoE, and SRP SANs. You can either
Install Windows Server 2008 directly to an iSCSI target

Install Windows Server 2008 to a physical disk
, then transfer the image to an iSCSI, AoE, or SRP target.
