I think that "localhost" is usually aliased to 127.0.0.1, which means
"this very system." A virtual machine is a system of its own, so
"localhost" in a VM means the VM, not the VM's host. Use the VM's
host's IP address, instead, and make sure not to use 127.0.0.1.<br>
