Just like any PXE other boot system. However, gPXE has additional
enhancements including scripting, HTTP/FTP download, iSCSI attach and
probably others I can't think of.

This depends on what you want to do.

It may be that it's been disabled in that build.

I'd guess that the card you have has gPXE as its onboard PXE ROM.
