Good day Geert,

Is it possible that the BIOS does "superfloppy" emulation, rather than 
HDD emulation for your USB stick?  If so, what would writing gpxe.dsk to 
the USB stick accomplish?

Could you achieve better results by installing a boot-loader on the USB 
stick and loading gPXE by its gpxe.lkrn build target?
