[gPXE] Unable to get past iSCSI drive message for SAN Installation...

Hello again Matt,
I'm glad you were able to get past the one hurdle, though it's unfortunate
you got stopped by another :-/
I seem to recall that there's something about a failed boot-type command
that halts script execution and fails back out to the BIOS boot order.
There is a patch for this though, and I've used it, it does work well! .but
I can't remember for the life of me how to apply patches from git. One of
those things that I re-figure out every time I use it. I've got a compiled
binary of it somewhere. it'd take some searching though.
The relevant patch is here:
http://git.etherboot.org/?p=people/sha0/gpxe.git;a=commitdiff;h=79bcbbe5
And the thread that it was introduced in is here:
http://etherboot.org/pipermail/gpxe-devel/2010-March/000078.html
That patch will, of course, allow you to do what you're attempting to
accomplish.
Cheers,
Andrew Bobulsky
[CC'ed to the mailing list and to Shao, because it's his patch ;)]

Installation...
Andrew,
I did precisely those steps last night which you have
described in detail above... and received a different error:
Non-System disk or disk error
replace and strike any key when ready
_
It will not continue on to the chain tftp:// command after the sanboot
command - not good.
Curiously, it will not attempt to boot from a USB Stick connected to it
(even though it is next in the boot order), but will boot from the DVD-ROM
(which is te device after that). Problem solved - sort of. The not being
able to use the USB stick is a disappointment, and I suspect it is related
to the BIOS of the particular system in question. The system will boot from
the USB stick normally if I don't use gPXE. Oh well.
Ao it appears I do have a working solution... that is the important thing. I
don't have the solution I was looking for, but overall, it does meet
the criteria.
Best,
Matt
