The RTL8139 only supports upto 1Mb, so I guess not.

A list of pros and cons is sort of what I meant yeh. Sorry for being
unclear. My idea is three
lists actually: a summarizing one of the chipset specific rom info
available on the wiki, one on burners and one on chips. These lists
will probably still only reflect personal preference, but would be
helpful I'd say, especially for new users.
