Hi Johan,
Your network chipset variation is not currently supported by gPXE. We
are always updating our drivers, and the driver you need updated, "tg3",
just hasn't been updated yet.
Because of the complexity of the driver it is a non-trivial amount of
work to update it, but it is on our roadmap. If funding is available to
support the work, it might happen faster. Please email me off-list if
that is of interest to you.
Another way to do what you want is to use PXE chaining using gPXE's
undionly.kpxe form to "chainload" gPXE from your on-board PXE.
(apologies if you've already tried this). Just in case you haven't:
http://etherboot.org/wiki/pxechaining
You could also create a gPXE-that-looks-like-a-linux-kernel (.lkrn)
image and boot that.
Discussions of how to do pxechaining or use .lkrn files should mostly go
on the gpxe at etherboot.org list, since this list is more about
implementation of gPXE rather than usage of gPXE.
Thanks for asking about this driver, though, we do plan to update it,
and it's good to be reminded what native drivers people need.
Regards,
/ Marty /
