I appreciate the invitation to start sharing ideas here.

I just wanted to mention in regards to scripting that I haven't had a
chance to respond to your invitation in another e-mail yet, but intended
to.  Also Syslinux has experimental lua support as of quite recently.
It now seems that it would be handy to start exporting stuff from both
gPXE and Syslinux.  I'm not 100% sure what that might look like.
